Problem 1: Calculate the output voltage and zener current in the regulator circuit for RL= 1kΩ. Determine Vo,VCE,IR,IL,IB and IZ.



Vo=VZ-VBE=12-0.7=11.3V
VCE=Vi-Vo=20V-11.3V=8.7V
IR=(20V-12V)/220=36.4mA
For RL= 1kΩ
IL=Vo/ RL =11.3V/1kΩ=11.3mA
IB=IC/ß=11.3mA/50=226uA
IZ= IR - IB =36.4mA-226uA=36mA
